Company settings and configuration

Configure fiscal year, taxes, and user access before you start entering data.

Fiscal year

NavoBook uses your fiscal year to generate accurate financial reports.

  1. 1Go to Settings → Accounting
  2. 2Set your Fiscal Year Start Month (e.g., July for the Pakistani tax year)
  3. 3Click Save

Changing the fiscal year after recording transactions may affect report comparisons between periods.

Tax settings

Set up GST or sales tax rates so they auto-populate on invoices.

  1. 1Go to Settings → Taxes
  2. 2Click Add Tax Rate
  3. 3Enter the name (e.g., GST 17%) and percentage (e.g., 17)
  4. 4Mark as Default if you want it pre-selected on every new invoice
  5. 5Click Save

User roles and access

Control who can see and do what in NavoBook.

  1. 1Go to Settings → Users & Roles
  2. 2Click Invite User and enter the person's email
  3. 3Assign a role: Admin, Accountant, Sales, Purchase, HR, or Viewer
  4. 4The invited user receives an email to set their password

Use the Viewer role for business owners or stakeholders who only need to read reports without making changes.
