Run Monthly Payroll

Process salaries, deductions, and generate payslips for all employees.

Running a payroll

  1. 1Go to HR → Payroll
  2. 2Click New Payroll Run
  3. 3Select the Period (month and year)
  4. 4NavoBook loads all active employees with their base salary
  5. 5Review and adjust for additions (bonuses, allowances) or deductions (advances, leaves without pay)
  6. 6Click Calculate to see net payable amounts for each employee
  7. 7Review the payroll summary
  8. 8Click Post to finalise

Once posted, a payroll journal entry is automatically created, debiting Salary Expense and crediting Salaries Payable.

Recording the salary payment

Posting payroll creates the liability, you still need to record the actual bank transfer.

  1. 1On the payroll run, click Pay Salaries
  2. 2Select the Bank Account salaries will be paid from
  3. 3Click Confirm Payment

Downloading payslips

  1. 1Open the payroll run
  2. 2Click an employee's name to view their individual payslip
  3. 3Click Print to download as PDF
  4. 4Or use Bulk Print to download all payslips at once
